"One hardly knows what to expect from a band named Majorlaan, but in the case of these young musicians from Langley, BC, it is heartfelt punk rock with an emphasis on melody and structure. Granted, these guys aren’t for everyone, so turn back now if Extreme Noise Terror is your favourite band and you enjoy criss-crossing the country in dirty boxcars. Rather than beat listeners to death with growly vocals and drop D tuning, Majorlaan takes a more sophisticated approach to the genre, adding multiple layers of guitars that thrill even as they refresh. This EP is the definition of modern punk, and although none of the bandmembers were even born when Sid Vicious so ungracefully exited this mortal coil, they have much to offer (and the bass player can actually play.) Think of Majorlaan as ambassadors from the future, taking a little from column A and a bit from column B to save punk from becoming a stale and cliched commodity.
